Introducing Ida May. I met Ida when we were teaching yoga at the same studio in Brick Lane a few years ago. She's one of those people you constantly see whizzing past you on her bike in Hackney, popping up on a billboard, or appearing in a music video. She's the untimate so hum babe. We caught up with her to find out a little bit more...
Tell us a little bit about what you do?
I dance, act, model, cast, choreograph, train and make up moves, teach fitness (1REBEL) and yoga (Shoreditch House), PT, run retreats and workshops, love to travel and be creative (CLLAP).
What is your favourite meal?
Does poached eggs n avo count?!! Haha. I LOVE sushi, especially sashimi. Yes. Japanese food.
The best place to eat out?
Depends on your mood, and what time of the day it is. ‘CREAM Shoreditch’ is great for lunch. Good food n awesome people. Enjoyed my brunch at the ‘Good Egg’ in Stoke Newington too. ‘A Little What You Fancy’ in Haggerston, ‘Lobster Bar’ in Hackney and yes “Raw Duck’. I tend to stay local and in East. ‘Koya’ in Soho! L&E Oyster Bar in LA.
When was the last time you cooked for someone?
I can’t remember. Is that bad? New Years. Yep. So actually not that long ago, 5 weeks ago,
Coffee or tea?
Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Long Black. First thing in the morning.
What is your favourite shop?
I like a good little wonder at Liberty. The perfumes! Dover St Market.
What’s the last thing you bought?
Shoes… Givenchy babe!

Favourite meeting spot? I wana say ‘underneath the clock’. But that spot is in Finland. Does that count.
What are you listening to right now?
Street sounds. Actually I don’t have any music on atm! Wow. Surprised myself too.
What’s your radio station?
Spotify. I do radio based on my playlists.
Last Band / DJ you saw live?
The Jungle, friend invited me to see their gig. I need to see more live gigs. Love it.
What’s the sound of your childhood?
Accordion. All my brothers played accordion.
What’s your Morning ritual?
Get up and go! Am up quite early most days so then it’s just hot lemon water and go. When I get a minute I stop for breakfast. ‘Beany Green’ on Broadgate circle is my new local breakfast spot ‘long black & avocado wrap’ is so good.
What do you do on your days off?
Days off??! Hahah. I chill with friends. Hit Broadway Market for bit of food and coffee. Go see art, theatre and any live performances and art galleries. And train.
What do you do when no ones home?
Listen to music out loud and walk around naked.
Last thing you learnt how to do?
Every day you learn something right. Learned a cool new contemporary routine at todays audition.
Something comfy. Last couple of days Y-3 hoody. Comme des garcon fleece harems and my new Adidas jacket w/ some lovely thumbholes and a high collar.

What do you wear at home?
Same stuff. And wool socks.
What do you do to relax?
Yoga, meditate, sound baths are ace, watch films, wine n dine with friends, go hiking, see the mountains, get by the sea, travel. See the world.
Detox or retox?
Both. You need the balance.
Where do you go to find peace?
To the sea.
